When I ponder God’s joy,
I think of settled peace,
quiet assurance,
hope
bubbling up and over
rocks of trial
and circumstance.
I think of grace
soothing the grieving sore heart,
relieving the
ravages of sin
and hurt.
I think of mercy
stretching out
to encompass the troubled,
and giving grace
from my heart
which was empty
and damaged
until He filled it
with His joy.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
I John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

Lovely, Beth. I especially love the line about hope bubbling up and over rocks of trial. Nothing stops hope when there’s an unending supply coming from the eternal spring of God’s Spirit (John 7:37-38)!
