Rain came today tiptoeing on quiet feet, making its way across yard and field and street, then splashing joyously in its own puddles, drumming a parade on the roof and shooting fireworks in the sky. The trees lifted their arms in celebration and the grasses clapped their hands. The dust of earth was banished for a moment, and life drank deeply. Rain came today, lovely, refreshing rain, and watered my dry heart.
Leviticus 26:4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
Psalm 72:5 They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations. 6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.
