“The sun is coming up. I see it in the clouds. Wow! Wow! Wow!”
Those were the awestruck words I heard from our four-year-old grandson as he rounded the corner of the patio on his small bike. He was getting rid of excessive early morning energy, and his whispered thoughts recognized the wonder of the new day.
As I listened to his heart praise, my thoughts joined his –
Wow, God! You have given us another day!
Wow, God! The sun is breaking through the darkness!
Wow, God! You do good work!
I don’t always stop to notice the amazing everyday things that God so faithfully does, but this morning our grandson reminded me by his actions that it is a good thing to do.
Wow, God! Thank You!
Matthew 18: 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
Psalm 59:16 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.

Out of the mouth of your grandson comes praise and I should do the same. May God’s wonders never cease to amaze me!

Those were my thoughts, too, Patty. God can teach us much through children.
