When my heart struggles to find the light, when darkness deepens and wrong seems right – I know a refuge, I know a place where I find truth and I find grace. When I am blown by the winds of doubt, When waves of fear toss my soul about – I know a refuge, I know a place where I find safety in my Savior’s grace. When my heart cries for help and ease, His gracious heart hears my earnest plea. He pulls me into His sweet embrace – there I find mercy and I find grace. Exodus 33:17 And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

This poem is truly a balm to my soul! I read through it several times to let those words- “I know a refuge, I know a place where if find- mercy, truth, grace, safety” wash over me. Somehow I missed this post at the beginning of the month but honestly I needed to read this today more than I would have two weeks ago. Thank you!

I wrote the poem a while back and came across it last month at a time when I needed it. I so understand needing the balm of His refuge. Thank you for sharing.
