Monday Morning Prayer

Father,

Today begins a new week, and I am not sure I am ready.

There will be difficulties and challenges. Remind me that You are holding my hand as I walk through them.

There will be tasks to complete. Give me wisdom to set priorities and strength to do the job. Remind me to be thankful for work.

There will be people. Grant grace and love as our paths intersect. Give me eyes to see needs and joy to share.

There may be sorrow but remind me that it is temporary.

There will be failure and success. Let me lay them both at Your feet.

There will be joy. Help me not to miss it as I hurry through duties and demands. A bird’s song, the sun’s warmth, a child’s smile, an unexpected kindness, Your ever present love – all life giving and life renewing. Grant me open eyes and an open heart to receive Your gifts.

This is the day, the week, that You have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it –

with Your help.

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Psalm 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
