I wish I had the words to describe what I saw this morning.
Under an overcast sky at sunrise, I was driving through a long stretch of land still reeling from the devastation of Hurricane Michael. Downed trees, piles of logs, and empty fields just beginning to show life again made up the landscape, and little traffic interrupted my journey.
A blanket of fog hung overhead, skimming the tops of the cars and leaving us immersed in a totally gray morning.
As I watched the way ahead, the gray separated with a jagged tear, revealing blue sky beyond. There I saw high cumulus clouds backed by the rays of the rising sun, outlined and afire with light. What glory!
The tear in the fog was momentary, but it was enough to change my perspective.
I thought, “God is putting on a show this morning”, and I thanked Him for sharing it with me.
Perhaps David experienced something like this when he wrote the eighth Psalm.
“When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained; What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou visitest him? (verses 3 and 4)
When I consider God’s handiwork and the majesty of His great creation, my heart begins to gain a right perspective.
I am not the center of the universe. The problems and the burdens that I face are not bigger than the God I serve.
God is over all. He is Creator, and He is Lord.
My proper heart response echoes David’s:
O Lord our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth! (Psalm 8:1, 9)

I am also amazed at God’s beautiful creation! Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Beth!

Even though the sun’s light visits us every day, we can have life changing perspective altering experiences by it’s mere entrance. I love the sunrise’s and sun sets. I often think how much God wants his light, which is way more life altering, should be shown through those who are “His” to those around every day.
