In this world that blames God for all its ills, even though the ills result from our own wayward paths through the centuries, today is a good day to remember His benefits.
Psalm 103 provides a great starting point.
- He forgives! (verse 3)
- He heals! (verse 3)
- He redeems! (verse 4)
- He crowns with lovingkindness and tender mercies. (verse 4)
- He satisfies! (verse 5)
Read that list again, and again.
God is good! God is so good!
David, the psalmist, was overcome with God’s goodness and his response was to bless the Lord with all his soul and all his being.
As you continue reading the psalm, here are a few more things for which to praise God:
- He is merciful and gracious, slow to anger with plenty of mercy. (verse 8)
- When we ask His forgiveness, He removes our sin as far as the east is from the west. (verse 12)
- He has compassion on His children. (verse 13)
And think about this:
the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children’s children. (verse 17)
Do not let the attitudes and lies of this world turn you from the Father. Believe His love, His grace, His majesty, His truth, and bless His name!
Fill your tank from Psalm 103 this morning. Fill it until, like David, it overflows, and you cannot help but
BLESS HIS NAME!
Psalm 104:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honor and majesty.
