I heard the first whippoorwill this morning before dawn. The rising sun spotlighted dogwoods, white against the just greening grass, and it seemed as if the azaleas erupted over night into mountains of color.

Spring! New life. Rejuvenation. Rebirth. Awakening.

What a perfect season for the Resurrection!

Jesus entered this world in its winter – 400 years without a prophet. Four hundred years of silence from Heaven.

Then, God Himself appeared in Jesus, His Son.

For 33 years, Jesus walked this Earth, giving us a picture of the Father.

My sin called for His sacrifice, and His cross stood in the darkness of sin bearing the Light of the world.

But death could not stop God! Jesus arose, and in His resurrection, He brought us the opportunity to live, not in the winter of this world but in everlasting Spring.

Every flower, every bird, every new leaf gives testimony to His resurrection power.

So do I.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

II Timothy 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
