Guilty!
I have said, “All I can do is pray,” so many times, and I have said it with a sigh and a look of resignation.
Like praying is the last resort when all my own effort has proven fruitless.
As if beginning to pray means that all is hopeless, and I am going through the motions for a dying cause.
My comment should be a confident and resounding proclamation, “I can pray!”
I can talk to my Father, Who is the Lord of the Universe.
I can call on the resources of Heaven to meet a need.
I can engage in conversation with the Creator.
I can pray!
Prayer is not resignation. Prayer is connecting to the Source of all power. Prayer opens my heart to God, and prayer is the life breath of the God follower.
We talk about prayer a lot. We do studies on how to pray. We take prayer requests and keep prayer lists, but I wonder how much we actually talk with God.
I don’t fully understand prayer, but I do know that praying changes me. Praying realigns my focus and clears my heart. Praying settles my soul when the world is in chaos.
No matter how the circumstances scream for attention, running to the Father is always the best thing to do. We can run to Him on our knees.
Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

I remember saying “All we can do is pray.” Not long ago I prayed about a situation which upset me. It involved family dynamics, so it was complicated. After I prayed I had peace. Then I thought, “Prayer is enough”. As you said, we pray to the God, the Source of all power. He can make things right, when I am clueless and anxious. Prayer opens doors I didn’t even know were there, and from those doors come solutions. Now when I pray, I want to remember, “Prayer is enough!”

Real prayer if God’s classroom where we gather at His feet to listen and then ask questions with our requests. Blessings
