Christmas Is

Christmas is not just a sweet story about a baby being born to a poor couple.

Christmas is God making His love tangible, reaching past the wickedness and cruelty of mankind, and setting His Son down right in the middle of the mess.

Christmas is God making Himself known to us.

Christmas is the redeeming grace of God becoming flesh so that we could see Him and touch Him and know Him.

We could not aspire to be what God is, so He became one of us, revealing the depth of His love and offering us forgiveness and cleansing and hope.

Christmas cost God.

He humbled Himself, offered Himself, and made Himself vulnerable to our acceptance or rejection.

We cannot separate Christmas from the Cross or disconnect it from the Father’s plan of redemption.

Christmas displays the open heart of God and makes available His incomprehensible love to anyone who will simply receive it.

Christmas is God’s love.

How will you respond to Him?

Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

John 14:If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.
