Genesis 19:15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
Lot was ripped from home, family (read the whole chapter) and livelihood when God took him from Sodom. This verse says that God’s actions in this instance were merciful to Lot.
How often when I feel the sting of loss is God mercifully removing me from things or situations that endanger or will do damage to my soul?

I’ve been thankful for God’s removal of places and people in my life even though it was painful. Looking back reveals so much of His plan that we can’t see in the moment. Thank you for these words, Beth.
