The Way of Blessing

God is a gentleman, and He is just.

When we refuse His offer of redemption and relationship with Him, He honors that choice.

We are shocked then when the blessings that are innate in God are not provided as we go our own way apart from Him. We are like the prodigal, rebelling against and running away from the Father to dwell in the pigsty.

When will we realize that the blessing is IN God and in HIS way?

Like Eve, we have believed the serpent and decided that knowing evil will make us wise. His way does not deprive us of freedom but opens our lives to peace, to grace, to love, to wisdom, and to redemption.

Life and joy reside in the presence of our Father God, and Jesus has purchased our place in the family – if we just turn to Him.

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

So blessed by your devotionals. (The photo reminds Hugh of his Maine home and heritage.)
