Today is a struggle, Lord.
I confess that the aches and
pains of life are taking a toll
on my heart.
I feel the fingers of futility
clutching at my soul,
and I am too tired to fight.
But God (I love those two words),
You are not too tired.
You do not slumber or sleep,
and You are an ever present help
in trouble.
I’m not sure I can run to You,
but I am limping toward Your love
to bury myself in Your bosom.
Hide me, Rock of Ages.
Hide me from desperation
and darkness.
Draw me into the light of
Your glory.
You are stronger –
stronger than physical pain;
stronger than hopelessness;
stronger than fear;
stronger than the enemies
of my soul.
Carry me today, Lord.
Please carry me.
I claim the Light of Your Presence
and immeasurable grace of the cross.
I claim the power of
Your Resurrection.
I claim You, Father,
and I go in the strength
of Who You are.
Because of Jesus,
Amen!
