God gives victory.
Sometimes the victory is miraculous and awesome in our eyes, and for a few minutes we are amazed and wonder at His power.
But often the victory, though no less monumental, is not the victory of a champion but resembles the training of the soldier.
It occurs in the strength to take one more step.
It lives in the love to forgive one more hurt.
It thrives in the faith that trusts through adversity and in the courage that believes when faced with hopelessness.
It may hide in the willpower to reject that slice of pie or study the extra hour.
God’s victory continues through hardships and remains steadfast in our darkest hours.
Each time we experience such victory, we gain a little more muscle in the soul and a little more fuel in the heart.
Each victory, big or small, grandiose or mundane, is a gift of love from the Father.
If you are not feeling victorious, look around and see how far God has brought you. Then celebrate and thank God for the victories you experience today.
I John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
I Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
