Consider Him

Encouragement from Hebrews 12:1-4 –

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which does so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1).

We need to let go of some things.

We have a race to run.

We have a cheerleading section.

Press on! God is worth living for!

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2).

We have an example.

We have a goal.

A prize awaits.

For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your minds. You have not yet resisted unto blood striving against sin (Hebrews 12:3-4).

When you are tired –
Consider Him.
When you are discouraged –
Consider Him.
When others fail you –
Consider Jesus.
When the way is hard –
Consider Jesus.
When you are tempted –
Consider Jesus.
When you are ready to give up –
Consider Jesus.
Jesus –
Who walked in truth;
Who was beaten and bruised;
Who was shamed and betrayed;
Who was nailed to a cross.
Because He considered you,
Consider Him.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
