Wait on the Lord

In the rushing of this world around us,
turning every day;
running when we should be walking,
trying to find our way.
Only one road leads to happiness.
Only one road leads to peace.
We find that road before us
when our senseless strivings cease.

We must wait on the Lord -
resting in His promises,
trusting in His Word.
We must wait on the Lord.
He will strengthen our weak hearts.
He has promised to do His part,
when we wait, wait upon the Lord.

We live our lives always thinking
that we must be strong.
We are in a battle with the world –
right must triumph wrong.
It is true we face a battle,
but the battle is the Lord’s;
Victory depends upon
our leaning on His Word.

So, if battle plans have got you down,
try taking time to pray.
We find our strength renewed
when we spend time with Him each day.
Jesus Christ has won the victory.
Why not take Him at His Word?
Our weakness is His strength
when we wait upon the Lord.

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Isaiah 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
