Something about the morning when the sun awakens and puts the darkness to bed. Something about the freshness of dew and the cardinal’s song that calls to the heart and whispers “hope”. Something about the still air lighting butterfly soft on the skin, that tells life to pay attention. Something about the scattered fairy hankies glistening in the early rays that reminds the soul to sing. Something about the morning that shines through the cobwebs of night before the world’s noise intrudes, and promises.
Psalm 143:8 Cause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in Thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto Thee.
Psalm 30:5 …weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Lamentations 3: 22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Father,
Before the busyness of this day takes over, let me hear Your voice and see Your work. Let the morning time with You carry me through the toil of the day and the heat of the sun. Tuck Your sunlight in my soul, and let it shine brightly today.
