Monday Morning Prayer

Father,

So many people are hurting.  The winds of hopelessness are blowing through our land, and the storm clouds continue to build.

In the middle of this turmoil, trying to live each day, are mothers with children, babies in need of food and care, dads needing work, the ill and the disabled, people questioning their abilities, their purpose, their worth.

Father, help. We are in so much need of You.

Yet, we continue to focus our eyes on the systems of this world. We continue to try to work it out on our own.

We cling to this temporary world thinking it is all we have.

Lift our eyes to You and let them see beyond the darkness to the light of Your glory.

As the foundations of this world crumble, let us be found standing securely in Your love and on Your word.

You are our security, our hope, our joy, our eternal goal.

Colossians 3: Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Great O Lord is Your power and infinite is Your wisdom. Therefore, we bless You without ceasing and delight in Your praise.

You have made us for Yourself and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in You.
