Forgiveness

Forgiveness –

Letting go of the hurts of the past by releasing them into the hands of the Father;

Refusing to pick the scab on the wound;

Living in the cleanness of the moment instead of wallowing in dirty laundry;

Removing the burr under the saddle rather than cherishing it to be irritated each time it is touched;

Insisting that the wrongs of the past not be given the power to destroy the joy of the present;

Giving up the right to harbor anger and resentment and wounded pride.

Forgiveness –

Living in the grace of God.

May God grant us grace to be people of forgiveness.

Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
