Perhaps we are always struggling because we are constantly trying to build a nest – a place of permanence and comfort and haven – in this world.
Yet God deems us pilgrims, citizens of Heaven, who are just passing this way. Here we face our tests and our trials as God shapes and molds us. Here we enjoy opportunity in the friendships and fellowship of other travelers. Here we learn to walk with God.
Our natural man wishes to set up housekeeping in the material realm of Earth, while our soul longs for the eternal. We look for security here, and all the while God is calling us, saying “I AM your security; I AM your home.
Hebrews 13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
