Shepherds watched in wonder
the Child in the manger bed.
A lowly stall, the throne of God,
Just as the angel said.

Could a birth so humble
bring God into sight?

Day Star shining brightly
in the dark of night.
One so small the Lord of all,
Everlasting Light.

Into a world of darkness
bound by chains of sin,
Christ brought Light – everlasting Life –
to dawn in the hearts of men.
