Christmas!

Early morning hour, and my heart is filled with memories and thankfulness and joy —

Memories of Christmas programs, paper sacks of goodies, decorations, music;

Memories of secrets, and giggles, and children sleeping on the floor to await morning;

Sweet memories of people who have touched me with love and grace.

Thankfulness for family and laughter and the God of love Who planned it all;

Joy in the fact that my Christmas is not packaged under the tree.

The question that I have been asked most often this season is, “are you ready for Christmas?”.

My answer – “Oh, yes, I am always ready for Christmas!”

I usually don’t elaborate, but I know that the Christ of Christmas is with me always. His blood has cleansed me, and He makes me ready.

I bask in the glow of the Christmas lights, and I relish the sweet peace of this morning. His music soothes my soul, and I am thankful, most thankful, for Him.
