Bring a baby into the room, and the whole atmosphere changes. Women coo and men tickle. Smiles appear almost effortlessly. And should that baby chance to smile…..absolute glory!
Many words have been written about the birth of THE Baby. People wonder why God started from such a helpless child when He came to save the world.
But God makes no mistakes.
Something so simple as a baby
awed rough shepherds,
caused scholars to wonder,
and shook the foundation of the ruling king.
Jesus came as a baby, but He wasn’t just a child.
John 1 tells us that He was present at creation and spoke the world into existence.
He is the fulfillment of God’s eternal promise to Abraham.
He is the source and subject of the psalms of David.
He was the narrator of the law, and He was the only One Who could and did fulfill its demands.
This Baby was God incarnate – Creator and Created.
A Baby. Jesus.
Simple – yes.
Miraculous – absolutely!
Worthy of worship – every day of my life!
This Baby grew to be my Savior and changed everything for me.
The words to the Christmas hymn “O Holy Night” always stir my heart as I realize His greatness and glory.
Fall on your knees. Oh, hear the angel voices. Oh night divine – Oh, night when Christ was born! (Adolphe Adam, 1847)
I pray that He will be honored and reverenced as I worship Him this Christmas and always.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
May you have a blessed Christmas.
