“Howbeit no man spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews.”  John 7:13

In 2000 years, little has changed. 

Substitute ‘crowd’ or ‘family’ or ‘civil suit’ or ‘political correctness’ for the word Jews in the above verse, and we still find ourselves maintaining silence as we worry about the world’s response to the message of Christ. 

We honor and defer to the desires and feelings of those who reject the gospel at the expense of openly proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ.  We avoid offending or challenging, choosing instead to hide our light under a bushel. 

Perhaps we should just live out our faith while speaking the truth in love and let the chips fall where they may.
