There’s a stirring in the air;
the geese are on the wing.
Gray clouds scurry over trees
that shed clothing worn since spring.
The v-shape points toward the south
where the geese seek winter homes,
and northern winds are threatening
here where summer used to roam.
There’s a stirring in the air,
though my soul is at ease
with thoughts of home, and fires, and love,
and God’s sweet Autumn peace.
