Ebbing and flowing in traffic, I
barely heard the
gentle refrain echoing
across the Sunday morning.
Surprised by the sound,
I tuned my ears
to capture notes
to fill my soul,
but they were wispy, high above
my hurried pace.
Pushed by the crowd I moved on,
the song lost
to my heart,
bereft at the forfeiture
of music
in this rush of life.
