Father,

We have everything so out of whack.

We turn away from You and chase after things, intent on our own way. We are distracted by the noise and the glitter and the hurry of life. We are fearful of quiet and the hollowness it reveals in our souls, so we encase ourselves in endless busyness and entertainment scurrying like hamsters on a wheel.

We are willful children standing with hands of hips, refusing to follow Your way.

You have told us and shown us and proven to us that blessing and joy are in You.  You have opened Your arms and called us, offering mercy and grace and provision and purpose – all the things we chase after – if we just trust in You.

Turn us around, Lord, and help us to chase after You.

Psalm 128:1, 2 – Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord: that walketh in His ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
