for God to provide a way and walk with us through the problems and hardships?

Which is more?
for God to grant our every selfish request,
or
for God to help us learn contentment in whatever circumstances we face?

Which is best?
for God to craft circumstances to protect our happiness,
or
for God to provide deep joy that cannot be quenched by circumstances?
