God’s Word

The atheist may have more understanding and belief in the power of the Word of God than the believer.  How often the believer says “Why should it bother them if we share God’s Word or pray out loud?” The atheist seems to inherently know that God’s Word has power and authority, and that the mere hearing of it endangers his belief system.

God’s Word is the only offensive weapon in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:17).  It is living and powerful, and it bears fruit when it is sown.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Acts 8:4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

I Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

What a treasure we have in His Word.    How much we love it is evidenced by our use of it.

Haley’s Bible Handbook – a new Christian recently told me how helpful this old text is in her study.

What study tools do you find helpful?
