Isaiah 64:4 – For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
I can’t imagine the glory of Heaven.
I can’t imagine how God can improve upon the majesty and beauty of His creation here,
but I know when I view the grandeur of the mountains,
Heaven will be grander;
when I watch the beauty of a color-spangled sunset –
Heaven will be more beautiful;
when I gaze upon the innocence of a sleeping child –
Heaven will be purer;
when I experience the thrill of first love and the deep fulfillment of love over time –
the love of Heaven will fill and thrill me more.
So, what is Heaven?
Heaven is more…
More than I can imagine,
More than I can dream,
More than I can experience here,
More of the greatness and goodness of God.
More joy, more love, more grace, more peace, more excitement, more laughter,
more glory, more beauty, more satisfaction, more…..
More than I can comprehend.
That is Heaven,
because that is God.
Home
Shh…
A whisper, a refrain –
audible only in the depths of the spirit –
telling us
‘there is more’.
More than the bustle and busyness of this life.
More than fragments of happiness pieced together by circumstance.
More than selfish love that leaves us empty and broken.
There is more.
The whisper reverberates within the soul,
swelling as it breaks into song,
the crescendo bursting forth with joy,
calling us Home –
to the Father –
Home, where we belong.
1 Corinthians 2:9 – But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
