God’s grace is a central theme in scripture.  From the covering of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden to the preservation of the nation of Israel, one can trace His grace in His dealings with mankind.  We could speak of Noah and Abraham, of Moses and David, of Daniel and Jonah to demonstrate the history of grace, all in preparation for what was to come.

In the ultimate act of grace
God wrapped the very heart of Heaven
in robes of flesh
and watched as mankind nailed Him to a tree.

Silence…

then the beat of the heart of grace was heard
bursting forth in the resurrection,
celebrated in the lives of the apostles,
shared by the early church,
and traced through the lineage of faith
to me.

Hebrews 2:⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

I Corinthians 1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. ¹² But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: ¹³ Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. ¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
