Psalm 46 – Stillness

Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;  Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.  10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.  11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

When this world comes crashing down,
When all hope seems gone,
When light is dark and I stumble,
God is my refuge.

When strength slips from my weary grasp,
When I cannot stand,
When weakness overtakes my soul,
God is my strength.

Crashing waves and swelling earthquakes
Cannot overcome His power.
Though my soul may seem forsaken,
God is my present help.

Chains of fear break in His presence;
Restless hearts find home in Him.
I will seek Him in the stillness
And know He is God.
