I John 5 – Love

When the lights of this world fade away
And the noise is silent,
Love remains.

When youthful days pass swiftly
Followed by the frailness of age,
Love endures.

When controversy and conflict
Have failed to sustain our fickle hearts,
Love calls.

When greed and corruption
Have left us heartsick and empty,
Love fills.

When we have tried all the doors offered by this world
And found no place to rest,
Love calls us home.

It was always about love.

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”  I John 4:10

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  Romans 5:8
